Brunell Family Foundation

The Brunell Family Foundation strives to improve the quality of life for children and families during a time of life-changing trauma; through emotional, physical and financial support, to better improve the overallwellness and strength of the family or individual.

What people are saying...

"Mark and the Brunell Family Foundation hold a special place in the hearts of the children and families of The Children's Inn at NIH. While our residents are receiving treatment for their life-threatening illness, Mark and his foundation provide funding that makes it possible for the family to stay together during this critical time. In addition to their generosity, Mark's own personal time with the kids makes it possible for them to temporarily forget their medical crisis and just be kids - a truly special treat!

Mark BrunellThe Brunell Family Foundation began in 1997 while Mark was playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars.  Two years earlier, Mark and Stacy’s oldest son Jacob was hospitalized after being diagnosed with a respiratory infection when he was six weeks old.  Fortunately, Jacob received quality medical care and is now a healthy active young man.  This experience motivated the Brunells to establish a foundation to benefit critically ill children and their families.  Every day in our community, many parents and family members are faced with the challenge of their child facing a life-threatening illness.  The purpose of the Foundation is to help and strengthen families during these times.

Since 1997, the Brunell Family Foundation has raised nearly $800,000 for charity.  Through the Landstar Mark Brunell Charity Golf Tournament and other fund-raising events, the Foundation has benefited Wolfson Childrens Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, the Ronald McDonald House and  Dreams Come True.

The Foundation in Washington D.C.

Since moving to the D.C. area, the Brunell Family Foundation has been very active.   Our support of numerous charitable organizations has made a huge impact on many children and families in our communities.  Most recently, the BFF hosted our inaugural “In the Huddle” which raised $50,000 for the Children’s Inn at NIH.  The Foundation also sponsored “Every Kid’s A Rock Star” which was the 10th birthday celebration for the Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children.  The Foundation was also a major sponsor at the inaugural Mark Brunell Classic which benefited the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Other organizations benefited were the local chapters of the American Diabetes Associatio, Ronald McDonald House, Joshua Frase Foundation, Emergency Pregnancy Services, Foundation to Eradicate Duchenne and the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation.
